Comerica Bank required a refresh to the lobby entrance at their offices, which included the removal of their existing barriers and installation of the new Boon Edam Lifeline Speedlane Swing optical turnstiles. The entire scope required the contributions of many trades and consisted of equipment removal, floor repair and refinishing, re-cabling, new installation of Speedlanes, and custom glass to tie everything together. The entire project was executed over a single weekend to limit downtime and disruption to the entrance and resulted in a beautiful and modern solution.

Working alongside fence and construction contractors, International Controls and Equipment utilized it's expertise in vertical pivot gate operator design to develop and install three AutoGate VPL gates that were required along a security checkpoint. The site was unique in that it needed an automated gate solution which would fit in a very small space. The layout would not allow for the extra room that a traditional slide or swing gate occupies. Multiple driveways utilized the vertical pivot gates in tandem with barrier gate arms to control the flow of traffic in and out of the facility. Perhaps the most interesting element of the installation was the gate solution designed to secure the railway entrance. A custom gate was designed with railway "notches" which hug the ground closely while avoiding the rails. This maintains the minimum clearance mandated for security while automating a gate solution otherwise impossible with other products.

US Auto • Sterling Heights

US Auto of Sterling Heights required all-new multi-door access control and gate automation for their brand new auto parts facility. The project required a specialty solution that would control traffic on the west driveway entrance, which did not have enough room for traditional slide gates. To address this, International Controls & Equipment proposed and installed two AutoGate vertical pivot gates which lift upwards out of the roadway and provide a reliable barrier while requiring the least amount of space possible. Access is monitored and managed with an enterprise-level system by Continental Access.

Flex-N-Gate • Hamtramck

A secure pedestrian entry solution was needed in the perimeter fenceline at the new Flex-N-Gate facility just outside of Detroit, Michigan. By installing a new turnstile near the main entrance, International Controls & Equipment has ensured that only one person at a time enters the property, eliminating the risk of "tailgating" or "piggybacking" when used in conjunction with the facility's access control system. Selected for the project was Boon Edam's Tandem Turnlock turnstile unit paired with matching ADA Side Gate. Both turnstile and side gate are built from heavy duty anodized aluminum and the turnstiles include entry and exit indicator lighting and hydraulic speed controllers. International Controls & Equipment developed the parking lot traffic control solution for the City of Sterling Heights to eliminate unauthorized access and tailgating. Technologies used included 2.45GHz Tagmaster North America Inc. long-range microwave RFID vehicle tag readers and Liftmaster barrier gates for hands-free documented and regulated vehicular entry and exit to and from the lot. Security and convenience both were attained with this solution.

Addressing a need for perimeter security at the driveway entrances to the courthouse property, International Controls & Equipment installed multiple HySecurity StrongArmCrash M30 hydraulic barrier gate systems to prevent vehicular breach. The M30 crash barrier arm operators are crash certified to ASTM F2656-07 M30, P1 specifications for penetrations less than 1 meter. International Controls & Equipment was chosen early in the project to work exclusively with the design and engineering firm, to provide a highly reliable and user friendly visitor entry and resident security card access solution. We designed, specified, provided and installed an outdoor main lobby entrance digital screen directory unit with entry door lock controls, and a facility-wide card access proximity reader solution for resident entry security doors and elevator controls. The 80-unit, multi-story condominium security and visitor access project was completed on time and within budget for the required early 2017 Grand Opening.

Working with the customer, International Controls & Equipment designed and installed an enterprise high-definition video surveillance and card access control solution for CIE Automotive USA in Shelby Township, Michigan. ICE installed the cabling and switching infrastructure for the large-scale surveillance system across multiple plants and warehouses, deploying over 220 high-definition IP cameras on a VMS solution with video servers, 130+ Terabytes of storage, and over 5 miles of cabling. The platform provides the customer with enhanced situational and operational awareness, incident deterrence, continuity across the facilities, and more-- all benefits that the previous system did not accomplish.

Three secured parking lot gate systems with vehicle long-range access tags were installed by International Controls & Equipment, and seamlessly integrated into The Harrison’s portfolio of amenities. The Resident-only parking spots are quickly accessed by each resident as they simply drive up to the Parking Gate areas, and each gate activation is securely logged into a programmable reporting and onsite tracking system. The vehicle tags are battery free and provide a high-speed, long range read pattern for years of reliable service, and the aesthetically designed parking gates provide a fast open-close operation to maintain the owner’s desired level of operational security.

The security gate system for a private underground parking garage was provided and installed by International Controls & Equipment, at this recent Luxury Apartment building project in Midtown, Detroit. We assisted in the fast paced design-build layout and system installation, working directly with the developer and other onsite trades to provide a quick and effective solution to the facility parking security needs.
